Earlier today, The Country Music Awards Team announced that Beyonce' will be performing at the 50th Anniversary of the Country Music Awards Wednesday evening. During the CMA's, of course there was no introduction for the pop star as she immediately started singing "Daddy Lessons" after a commercial break. Beyonce' was joined on stage by the Dixie Chicks who all collaborated on the NOLA track to give it a more country feel.

Although this was a momentous moment for Queen Bey and the pop music industry, Twitter took to stir backlash at the pop star for performing at a award show designated for country music and not pop. The backlash was also correlated with Beyonce's remarks on her views of the Black Lives Matter movement and her visual stabs at police officers in her music videos such as Formation. The Country Music Awards saw it as a great opportunity to bring in their 50th Anniversary Giving Beyonce' and The Dixie Chicks are all Texas native, their collaboration at the CMA's was well rooted. They've also released their version of "Daddy Lessons" available for streaming on SoundCloud.
