Republican Presidential candidate, Donald Trump has parted ways with his controversial campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski. The move came as a shocker due to the fact that the presumptive Republican nominee will no doubt face challenges as he nears the general election.
Mr. Lewandowski could not be reached for comments about his abrupt departure.
Campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks was quoted as saying, “the campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future.” Mr. Trump has in fact faced increasing displeasure from his allies, donors, and children about the next phase of the campaign. In the case of Lewandowski, he was said to have had strained relationships with others in the campaign, namely chief strategist Paul Manafort who was brought on in March.
No one inside the campaign was given any warning in advance about the dismissal of Mr. Lewandowski. With Donald Trump’s biggest challenge still ahead of him in Hillary Clinton, one has to wonder if firing Mr. Lewandowski was a good call on the part of the mogul.
