DJ Mustard is no more. As of this month, the producer is going by “Mustard.” Along with his name he dropped all of his debt. The hit making heavy weight has reportedly sold half of his catalog and bought himself out of every contract he was bound to. Now signed only to himself, it's safe to say we can expect a lot more hits. This is great business move and a model for young artist coming in the music industry. When signing record deals in he beginning of your career you sign over things such as name likeness to the record companies. Artist such as Prince has fought this battle to own his name and modern rapper like Jeezy is another example. Converting his name from Young Jeezy to Jeezy.
JAY Z headlined a concert a New York's famed Webster Hall this weekend to reopen the beloved venue in style. His BSides 2 concert was featured a full band, the 4:44 artist wore a tux as he serenaded the crowd with some of his deeper cuts from his albums. He shared the stage with artist such as NAS, Camron, JimJones .
"Gentrify your own hood before these people do it/ Claim eminent domain and have your people move in/ That’s a small glimpse into what Nipsey was doing/ For anybody still confused as to what he was doing.” Jay-Z
Paying homage to Nipsey Hussle who invested in the neighborhood he grew up in, JAY Z's use of the words "gentrify" seemed to rub a lot of people the wrong way. However, not everybody took issue with Mr. Carter's freestyle and blasted those who lacked the nuance and dexterity to grasp the meaning behind the message.
Playing semantics on gentrification, Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, calling Bey & Jay “black capitalists” all of is superficial AF. Like you’re not living here in America your damn self. You’re IN the system yourself! Be pontificating on history and stats with no work in the hood.— Exavier Pope (@exavierpope) April 27, 2019
What y’all gone theorize us free???? They’ll be quizzing you on how many James Baldwin books have you read and how tall Frederick Douglass was. FOH— Exavier Pope (@exavierpope) April 27, 2019
regardless of jay-z’s use or misuse of the word gentrification, y’all know the exact message he was trying to get across and are on here being willfully obtuse.— BRÉ 🐉 (@_teenagerebel_) April 27, 2019
Jay Z will say some the most basic ass shit about gentrification. I mean dead ass common sense, and yall will praise him like he is some revolutionary lol. Fuck outta here. He was 43 rapping about Tom Ford. I ain't forget.— Hezekiah (@CulturedProdigy) April 28, 2019
Jay z saying gentrify ur own communities is still harmful, u know y? Its still fucking gentrification!— Thirsty Thoooot (@identicalcrises) April 27, 2019
This whole thing stems from Jay Z saying “gentrify your own good before u let them do it”. Jay Z is not in great understanding or educated on the gentrification process & what it means to communities of color. Making him UNEDUCATED in that space...meaning he shouldn’t say that.— Decorated Ex-GF (@FabDLT_) April 27, 2019

This is Disgusting! You both are vile despicable, poor excuses for people. My expectations have already decreased so much for mankind in the past couple weeks that this hardly surprised me... especially from @foxnews But rest assured that sooner than later you’ll BOTH see... WE ALL GET OUR TURN TO LIVE THROUGH OUR OWN PERSONAL TRAGEDY... and watch how many people dance in the streets, laugh and crack distasteful inappropriate jokes when it’s YOUR TURN!!!! Karma is constant & the laws of reciprocity ARE IN ORDER!!!! Neither of you WILL EVER know or experience the level of love, appreciation and respect that Nip has... EVEN IN DEATH!!! So let that sizzle in ya lil hateful, demonic spirits. And with that... I’m logging off IG at least a month or so... 🖕🏽
Recently Laura Ingraham mocked the death of Nipsey Hussle on her Fox News show...Did you all know that Laura Ingraham was a convicted thief who was charged with shoplifting while she was in college? She tries to mayonnaise-splain' this incident as a "dare"— Tariq Nasheed 🇺🇸 (@tariqnasheed) April 17, 2019
Kerry Lathan; the man who was shot with Nipsey Hussel, explain’s his current situation on Big U’s Instagram live. After Nipsey’s murder and Lathan being hospitalize he was arrested for violating his parole. The arrest was made for being around a known gang member, who they say is Nipsey Hussle. Nipsey Hussle and Lathan are allegedly members of the LA Crip gang.
Nipsey Hussle was meeting with Kerry Lathan to give him clothes and money as he just came home from doing 25 years in prison for murder. Thousands flocked to remember the life of Nipsey Hussle at a packed memorial service Thursday (April 11) that provided mourners with a deeper appreciation of Ermias Asghedom, the man behind the up-and-coming hip-hop persona.
Hussle’s brother, Samiel Asghedom, talked about how Hussle would assemble parts to build his first computer, but became emotional about his brother leaving his “heart and soul” on the popular intersection of Crenshaw and Slauson Avenue.
“Bro, you made the world proud,” he said.
Hussle recently purchased the strip mall where The Marathon is located and planned to redevelop it, part of Hussle’s broader ambitions to remake the neighborhood where he grew up and attempt to break the cycle of gang life that lured him in when he was younger. His family and friends vowed to continue his work, and London told the crowd: “The marathon continues!”

Wow. I don’t even know what to say. I’m confused. Nipsey and I had just started really getting to know each other. I feel honored to have worked on his project. Nipsey represents change, he represents evolution, he represents everything our culture needs to embrace. Black ownership. Black love. Black wealth. God bless you and your family King. @laurenlondon whatever you need we are here for you. My family is your family. 🖤
