Most young men have dreams of aspiring to be Doctors or Lawyers, but not Kap G. The 6’1 Mexican- American rapper grew up like most kids in College Park, a suburb of Atlanta playing basketball and hanging out with friends. Dubbed as the future by Pharrel, the 21 year old rapper signed to Atlantic Records, starred in the hit movie Dope, and has a resume that includes T.I., Young Thug, Fabolous and Chris Brown just to name a few.
Kap has already made his mark that set him apart as a mainstream artist in a African American driven culture. But, it was his ability to use his early struggles as a first generation Mexican- American Immigrant as a way to tell the plights of being racial profiling by police as he details on his song “F**** La Policia.” However, he may not have forgotten about those struggles, he steps out into a more softer side on his hit single “Girlfriend” which has been met with critical acclaim. Kap also sat down to discuss the importance of using his platform to continue to break barriers for other up and coming artists as well as other projects he has coming up!
